America, WTF!!!

  • May. 21st, 2009 at 1:36 PM

Okay American, we need to talk. I know sometimes we do something silly. Like, vote for silly people. But you know, big deal. Things happen. Now I have to as America this, WTF WERE YOU THINKING! Last night on American Idol, Kris Allen was crowned the next American Idol. Why American? Adam Lambert had it in the bag and he lost. We had a very simple thing that Adam was going to win and we blew it! Oh well, other than that, the night was pretty good. The acts were very nicely done.

Mission: Outside

  • May. 19th, 2009 at 2:10 PM

Well, this is a little outing. I decided to try my laptop outside. You know, just to see how well it will work. Plus, I wanted to see if I would get the internet out in by back yard. Okay, it does work. That's how i'm posting this. There are some down sides to this too. One thing is that i can't really see the screen or what i'm doing. It's because it's so damn bright out here that there is no way to see the screen. I think coming out in the afternoon was not a smart idea on my part. Closer to five would be a good time. The keys, which are black, heat up really fast in the sun. So hitting the back space key kind of burns. But other thena that, I like it. I'm tanning and playing on my computer. While its not an orginal idea, it's a good one. Oh yeah, if you ahte bugs, don't do it. Nature, it seems likie, is full of bugs. Rawr.

While I know I haven't posted must on here lately. I should I should add that the Detroit Red Wings are facing the Chicago Blackhawks today. And looking at the score, we beat them. Of course, the series is still young. The Hawks can pull an upset. But as I die hard Wings fan, I'm going to say Wings in 6. Go Wings!

Married and Divorced by 8

  • Apr. 30th, 2009 at 11:21 PM

As I was waiting for a show to start, I found this article. A girl in Saudi Arabia, an 8 year old girl might I add, was married off last year. Today she is divorcing her husband. Her 50 year old husband. HER 50 YEAR OLD HUSBAND. The man is old enough to be her father! Now I know other cultures around the world are very different from mine but come on! The girl was given away to be married for $13, 350 in American dollars. That would be 50,000 riyals. From what I read, this girls mother tried helping the girl file for divorce but was turned down saying the girl had to be an adult to file for divorce. Since there is so much outcry because of this, there is a movement currently going on that has to deal with this. they want to stop child marriages and establish a marrying age. the marrying age the movement is trying to get is 18. that is a great age for marrying. The girl would be an adult and not a child. Of course, the boys have the same problem with getting married as a child.

I'm rooting for you little Saudi girl and all the children your age!

Here's hoping that child marriages will stop.

Writer's Block: Wild Life

How long could you survive on your own in the wild?

This is a fun question. I think that when you are stick in a situation like that, you are pushed to your limits. I think, personally, maybe a week or more. I'm not going to say I can spend the rest of my life in the wild but I have watched "Man vs. Wild". Because of that show, I know the basics of what to do. Should I be lost near a river, I would be eating a lot of fish and dodging bears.

"That's Genius!"

Okay, not to feed my ego but I have been known to have some really good ideas. Today just happened to be one of those days. As I'm chilling on my computer because moving is rather painful and I was greeted by a random IM. This person asked me if she could stalk me. SHE ASKED ME IF SHE COULD STALK ME. There was a few things wrong. Mostly that she asked if she could "stalk" me. It was funny. So, during this act of fuckery, I decided I wanted to have some fun. To make this short, I annoyed the shit out of my "stalker". I told my friend Matt this and he thought it was a genuis move on my part. Annoy the stalker the point that the stalker doesn't want to stalk you anymore. Yay me and my genuis moment!

Feel the Burn

Ack! I just did a whole shit load of workouts. My legs hurt... Walking down the stairs is a little stiff and slightly painful. I am more amused that after working out, I was starving. I mean... REALLY starving. I ate one fruit bar, a sandwich, an apple, and I just warmed up a plate of chicken and some taters. I think I'm finally full. Yay me!

Do you know where your love is?

  • Apr. 25th, 2009 at 9:53 PM

... To answer that question, I dunno. My love has turned into some kind of confused lightning bug that has flew out of the field and out into the middle of the road. It is too confused to realize it's going to be hit by a car at any moment. To those who might not understand, I was talking about love as the emotion rather then the "love" has in a person. I add the "love person" part because in England they used love as in a person. Nice bit of information for you. Anyways, yes... I'm in a kind of mood today where rolling over and dying wouldn't be such a bad idea. But I'll take the high road and take a trip to some tropical island. You might not hear from me for a while but I'll be fine. Trust me. What set me off in such a mood happened last night. What did it was so small, so... not important to some but it just set me in this mood. It happened last night and I haven't got over it yet. Sad huh? I know a few people read this so I'm going to keep the issue that set me like this private. Should they want to know, they can ask.

Out of all of your favorite books, pick just one you'd recommend everyone read. As a bonus: why did you pick that one?

View 507 Answers

Out of all the books I have, which happens to be a lot, I would suggest everyone to read would be The Stupidest Angel. The reason I picked this book is because whenever I have a bad day, I could pick up this book, read a few pages, and get a good laugh. The Stupidest Angel is a book that would make you laugh despite the day you're having. So this is why I would suggest someone read that book.

Eulogy: Remembering BJ

  • Apr. 24th, 2009 at 10:06 PM

As I stumbled around the internet like some n00b, I found on Yahoo! Sports and the ever famous Eulogies now up. The one I read was about the Columbus Blue Jackets. The author of this blog post did everything in his power to make the BJ's seem like puppies (go figure). I have a need to be arty and muster up some talent to draw something. I have to admit, the Blue Jackets would make a cute puppy...
